AMF Basketball Program

Aktive Minds Foundation has partnered with Detroit Parks & Recreation's Heilmann Community Center to offer a youth basketball program suitable for all children, ages 7-14.

Enjoy team practices and games throughout the week. What makes our program special is the dedication to the players both on and off-the-court. All players in our program will be taken into the basketball classroom for character development lessons, and a team activity will be organized for the children to grow team relationships outside of basketball.

More Than a League... A program!

Don't just show up for a basketball game once a week. Become a part of a family! The AMF Basketball Program is a place for kids to build relationships in a fun, friendly, learning environment.

Basketball Classroom

In the classroom children will learn character-building and life applications to be applied both on and off the court.

Team Practices

Teams will have 1 or more practices per week with experienced instructors. This time will be used to prepare players for games.

Organized Games

Players will be placed on teams to play in the AMF/Heilmann House League.

Off-the-Court Team Activities

All participating children will be invited to enjoy a program activity outside of basketball to grow relationships with other children in the program and create memories!
